When will this project be delivered?

Physical rewards for this project are scheduled to be delivered between February and April of 2027.

Digital rewards are scheduled to be delivered first as a text-only beta in April 2026, and then a full-artwork deck in August 2026.

Will shipping be charged?

Yes, shipping will be charged on all physical pledges.

A close-to-final shipping estimate will be provided when the pledge manager opens, with final charges to be processed when the first digital files are delivered.

How big are the cards?

The cards are standard playing card size (3.5” x 2.5”).

The Big Jobs expansion is printed on jumbo tarot-sized cards (4.75” x 2.75”).

How many cards are there?

The main deck has 450 cards.

The NSFW expansion has 100 cards.

The Dungeons & Doofuses expansion has 100 cards.

The Big Jobs expansion has 40 jumbo tarot-sized cards (4.75” x 2.75”).

Are PDFs included?

If you pledge during the campaign, PDFs are included for every physical deck and expansion in your pledge level, and physical add-ons.

PDFs will be included in late pledges.

How do the free mini pins work?

There are 3 mini pins that qualifying backers can receive for free with their pledges, or add-on for $7 each.

“ADVENTURER IN TRAINING” EARLY BIRD PIN: Free for any backer who pledges in the first 48 hours and whose final reward tier is a physical pledge level.

“ADVENTURE MAP” BUNDLE PIN: Free with any pledge level $75 or higher or any physical pledge tier that reaches $75+ with add-ons.

“ASK ME ABOUT MY QUEST” RETURNING BACKER PIN: Free for any physical reward backer who has pledged any previous project by Peter Chiykowski or The Story Engine on Kickstarter or BackerKit. Please pledge using the same email address you used for reward surveys on our previous campaigns.

Pins will be added manually in the pledge manager after the campaign at around the time we lock pledges.

Backers who pledge the Great Devourer reward tier or “Paint Me Like One of Your Party Members” reward tier automatically qualify for and will receive a copy of all 3 pins.

How does the open beta work?

Open beta files are distributed to all backers whose pledges include those respective PDFs. For example, if your pledge includes the Dungeon Tryouts PDF, you will automatically receive the Dungeon Tryouts open beta. The same is true for the expansions.

What's going on with tariffs on goods coming to the USA?

As of June 20th, our freight partner disclosed that the blanket tariff rate is 30% on goods from China to the US. However, none of us know when, where, or how the rates may fluctuate in the current political climate. We don’t like it anymore than you do - but we can promise that we’ll do everything in our power to minimize the impact on our backers.

While introducing a price increase on our game could help cover tariffs, we know it would not be fair to everyone. Our goal as creators is to make our costs as reasonable as possible. We will do everything to minimize the burden on our backers, whether it is reworking our budget, timing our shipments, or negotiating with our suppliers.

We will be using BackerKit’s Pledge Manager to collect shipping & taxes post campaign. They have also introduced a Tariff Manager, which will communicate any additional tariffs as a separate line item along with a description. These fees all go directly back to the government.

This is Peter’s 10th crowdfunding project, and the 4th for The Story Engine. We’ve run into unprecedented challenges like national manufacturing shutdowns in China, the COVID-19 pandemic, one nearly-shipwrecked cargo vessel, Europe snap-shutting the border mid-fulfilment, and the UK leaving the EU in the final weeks of delivery.

We communicated with backers throughout the process and we always make sure every backer gets what they pay for. We will be as transparent as possible in sharing updates on the tariff situation, to ensure there are as little surprises as possible when it comes time for payment. If we can bear some of these costs, we will.

BackerKit FAQ

What is BackerKit?

BackerKit is a service that crowdfunded project creators use to keep track of hundreds to tens of thousands of backers—from shipping details, pledge levels, preferences and quantities, whether they have paid or had their card declined, special notes, and everything in between!

The BackerKit software and support team is independent from the campaign’s project team—BackerKit does not handle the actual reward shipping. For more information about the preparation or delivery status of your rewards, please check the project's updates page.

How does BackerKit work?

After the campaign ends, the project creator will send you an email with a unique link to your survey. You can check out a walkthrough of the process here.

I never received my invitation. How do I complete the survey?

The most common reasons for not receiving a survey email is that you may be checking an email inbox different from the email address you used to sign up with Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account, or it may be caught in your spam filter.

Confirm that the email address you are searching matches the email address tied to your Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or Tilt Pro account. If that doesn’t work, then try checking your spam, junk or promotions folders. You can also search for "backerkit” in your inbox.

To resend the survey to yourself, visit the project page and input the email address associated with your Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account.

How do I update my shipping address?

BackerKit allows you to update your shipping address until the shipping addresses are locked by the project creator. To update your address, go back to your BackerKit survey by inputting your email here.

When will my order be shipped, charged or locked?

That is handled directly by the project creator. BackerKit functions independently of the project itself, so we do not have control of their physical shipping timeline. If you want to check on the project’s status, we recommend reading over the project's updates page.

I completed the survey, but haven't received my rewards yet. When will they arrive?

As BackerKit does not actually handle any rewards or shipping, the best way to stay updated on the shipping timeline would be to check out the project's updates page.
